Hi! I’m Roswita

................

I’m a language learner, world traveler, and an educator with big dreams.

Obsessed with: chocolate, siestas, and shashlik. I’ve been on my life’s  journey since the seventies.

This journey has given me the opportunities to learn and experience languages & culture.

In retrospect...

................

I wasn't always the proud speaker of 5 languages, in fact my first report card recommended that I listen to more English stories to improve my vocabulary. When my family moved to South America my 5th grade year, I thought that learning new languages was a curse put upon me.

Feeling like every assignment pushed me further into an abyss of failure. Finally, when I began learning Russian in my early adult years, something clicked, and I learned how to better navigate languages & cultures.

Currently...

................

I’m probably sipping my Paraguayan tea - Yerba Mate, and thinking of ways to help others gain access to a new language and culture and help them make sense of the journey.

Do you want to know what gets me excited?!

Making language learners feel, own, and celebrate their enough-ness and achieve their goals…

Sometimes, bridging language and culture can leave us confused. If you can be successful in understanding and connecting, then I‘ll consider my job well done.

A few things I answer to...

................

01 Business Owner

I'm the founder of The Multilingual Voice. I love inspiring language learners to achieve their goals.

02 Mama

I’m the proud mom of 5 wonderful kids, including an amazing daughter-in-law.

03 Babe

My handsome man and I have been married for 30 years! We’re still ‘babe’ to each other.

04 Oma

I'm a first-time Oma (grandma in German) to our little grandson, Arrow.

05 Roswita

Ros - wee - ta... an old northern European vintage name calling that my parents chose to give their first daughter. Most of my childhood friends still call me by my full name. Many call me Rose; it was just easier that way :).

Mennonite Heritage

....................

Along with being raised in a multilingual home, I was surrounded with a deep rooted Mennonite heritage. Not only did I become accustomed to amazing food, but a love for my family's history became another great passion of mine.
